AWS Welding Inspection

A new generation of electronic components, fast micro-processors and the long-term experience in the manufacture of ultrasonic instruments has enabled Starmans to develop a really advanced ultrasonic flaw detector in the DIO-1000-SFE Defectobook with optimum specification parameters and functions.

Main Features:

  • Trigonometric flaw location fuction with curvature correction automatically calculates depth, surface distance and sound path to flaw along with the leg of the inspection when using angle beam probes. All measurements can be displayed in inches, mm.
  • Standard DAC, JIS-DAC, DGS / AVG, API, Automatic Thickness Meter, Auto Gain and Auto Freeze.
  • Weld rating calculation simplifies the rating of indications in welds according to AWS Specification D1.1 Static and Dynamic.
  • The DIO 1000 offers a powerful, feature full digital design with the detailed dynamic echo information similar to the old analog look and performance, with a sampling rate of 200 MHz.
  • Direct access to 12 functions
  • The DIO 1000-SFE provides a perfect balance of ergonomics and functionality. Whether you are working in the factory, laboratory or outdoors, you will find that it has all the features that you need.
  • The simple mode is perfect for Level I applications like plate and bolt testing.
  • The adjustable handle provides stability on any surface, even on pipe.
  • Large, bright color LCD screen with 1024 x 768 pixels provides excellent visability in direct sunlight.
  • Lightweight: 3 lbs. (1.3 kg) and only 13/8" (34 mm) thick.
  • Tone Burst pulser is selectable and tunable for optimum probe matching to satisfy a wide range of tough-to-penetrate applications.
  • EMAT Option for non-contact testing
  • B-Scan imaging - thickness mode or RGB palette.
