The SigmaCheck 2 Eddy Current Conductivity Meter is designed to provide the user with fast and accurate conductivity measurements, while offering the best in reliability, usability, technology and cost effectiveness. The SigmaCheck 2 is easy to use, whether you are a shop inspector or an engineer.

It meets the requirements for conductivity measurements in the Aircraft manufacture and maintenance fields, where conductivity measurements are used to verify proper alloy/ temper or detect heat damaged components. It is also useful to determine the purity of precious metals or whether they are counterfeit.

Probes

Each probe is supplied with an SD card, which holds the probe's characteristics. This is then inserted into the SigmaCheck being used.

Compatibility Notes

  • PSIG001 & PSIG002 are obsolete. PSIG001A and PSIG002A can be used with 1st Generation instruments, but the instrument must be sent back to the factory in the UK for factory remapping of the probe to the instrument it will be used with.
  • PSIG001A, PSIG002A and PSIG003A probes are compatible with both 2nd Generation (KISIG001A) and 3rd Generation (KISIG001B) instruments. Probes must be factory mapped to the instrument they will be used with.
  • For reference, any new probe shipped from ETher will have an "A" or "B" engraved on it (example below) indicating which instrument is has been mapped on:
    • Old Instrument - ISIG001A - "A"
    • New Instrument - ISIG001B - "B"
    • Very Old Instrument - ISIG001 - Blank
  • Interchangeability: It is possible to have multiple probes mapped to the same instrument and to change between them quickly by selecting the associated probe in the probe menu. For this to happen, all probe map files must be saved on the same SD card.

High Resolution Display:

The full color 2.8" LCD Display screen is 320x240 pixels providing excellent resolution and displaying conductivity and lift-off results with up to three decimal places precision. The display features an adjustable LED backlight allowing the operator to set their required screen brightness. The operator can also customize both the background colors and text colors to meet their personal preference.

Rapid Display of Conductivity Results:

The SigmaCheck 2 offers a choice of four frequencies (60, 120, 240, 480kHz) to allow the testing of a wide range of material thicknesses. The SigmaCheck 2 is noted for rapid display of conductivity results.

Excellent In-Field Performance & Data Reporting:

ETher NDE offers Field-Exchangeable probes with their configuration provided via micro SD Card or PC download via USB for the SigmaCheck 2. This removes the need for the instrument to be sent back for matching with the probe. By using a card reader of our PC Software, the new data for the probe can simply be copied onto the SD Card in the instrument, speeding up this process even further. USB PC Connectivity is built into the SigmaCheck 2 for remote control and data logging. The USB Connection offers real time data acquisition as well as eliminating any complicated driver installation. In addition, the USB Connection allows easy charging of the instrument without having to swap the batteries.

 

Lightweight & Ergonomically Designed:

Weighing 0.77 lbs (350 grams) including batteries and measuring 6.4" long (163mm), 3.1" wide (80mm), and 1" deep (25 mm), the SigmaCheck 2 is compact and extremely lightweight. Housed in a sculpted case with a detachable flexible open-faced removable silicone rubber boot, the SigmaCheck 2 is designed to be fully hand-held. Further, the standard probe has been designed to fit the hand well. Not only is the SigmaCheck 2 very accurate, its ergonomic design makes it a delight to use.
