Dakota NDT MX2-DL A/B Scope (Formerly MVX)

Dakota NDT MX2-DL A/B Scope (Formerly MVX)

Same Enclosure, New Electronics

The MX2-DL is Dakota's most basic A-Scan thickness scope, with the ability to satisfy most advanced thickness applications. It steps outside of our basic digital line of gauges by offering the versatility of a scope based instrument. Display options include: RF, Rectified, B-Scan and Large Digits. An alpha numeric data logging format with 4 GB internal SD memory stands to offer far more storage than ever needed.

Key Features:

  • 64 custom setups for quick load and testing
  • Quick access Thru-Paint Mode
  • Multiple calibration and material selection options
  • Auto find waveform feature

Pulse-Echo Mode (P-E)

Pulse-Echo (P-E) Mode measures from the surface to the back-wall echo. It is used on bare material to determine wall loss on corroded, eroded and pitted materials. When measuring through a coating the measurement will include an error due to the coating thickness x 2-3 because of the difference in sound velocity between the coating and test material.

Echo-Echo (E-E) Mode

Echo-Echo (E-E) Mode measures from the back-wall echo to its multiple-echo and eliminates the error due to the coating. Measurements can only be made on materials that have parallel surfaces as the multiple-echo will disappear if the back-wall is corroded or pitted.

Features:

  • Measuring Modes: Pulse-Echo (P-E) Flaws & Pitting & Echo-Echo (E-E) Thru-Paint.
  • Pulser: Square wave pulser with adjustable pulse width (spike, thin, wide).
  • Receiver: Manual or AGC gain control with 50dB range, depending on mode selected.
  • Timing: Precision TXCO timing with single shot 100MHz 8 bit ultra-low power digitizer.
  • Two independent gates.
  • Setups: 64 custom user-definable setups; factory setups can be edited.
  • Dual element style transducers. Selectable transducer types with built-in dual path error correction for improved linearity.
  • Alarm Mode: Set hi and lo tolerances with audible beeper and visual LEDs
  • Scan Mode: Takes 250 readings per second and displays the minimum reading found when the transducer is removed.
  • Windows® PC & OSX interface software.

Primary Improvements:

  • USB-C connectivity with file system
  • Serial over USB (using CDC class)
  • 4 GB internal SD memory
  • 50dB gain range
  • Screen update rate (25Hz)
  • PRF (pulse repetition frequency 250Hz)
  • High speed scan 200Hz
  • TDG (time dependent gain) - built into selectable probe types
  • Line power available using USB-C to PC or standard power adaptor
  • Quick screen capture to (.tif) file
  • Internal time and date stamp
