7HF Black:

Magnaflux Magnavis® 7HF Black Visible Magnetic Particles

Magnaflux Magnavis® 7HF is composed of 7C Black Magnaflux magnetic powder suspended in a low volatility mineral oil. It offers significant advantages in situations where bulk processing is found to be impractical and is often used in combination with WCP-2 White Contrast Paint.

Applications:
Magnavis® 7HF is ideal for remote inspection of tubes, piping, and other large structures.

7C Black Powder:

7C is a black dry powder concentrate ideally suited for use on light colored surfaces for optimum color contrast.

7C may be suspended in either Carrier II Oil Vehicle or in water. When water is used as a vehicle, conditioning agents such as WA-2B (1-1/3 oz./gal.) or WC-1 (2% by volume) are required. The conditioning agents improve particle suspendibility and mobility as well as part surface wetting and nominal corrosion inhibition. The 7C Black powder is generally used at a concentration of 1-1/4 oz./gal. (9.4 gms/L).

Composition:
7C is composed of compounded black magnetic powder.

Applications:
Magnaflux wet method magnetic particle inspection materials are used to locate surface and slightly subsurface discontinuities in ferrous structures.Wet method materials are typically used to find inclusions, seams, shrink cracks, tears, laps, flakes, welding defects, grinding cracks, quenching cracks and fatigue cracks.

WCP-2 - White Contrast Paint:

Magnaflux Magnavis® WCP-2 Contrast Paint provides a white background that enhances magnetic particle indications.

Magnaflux Magnavis® WCP-2 is composed of acetone and inorganic pigments and utilizes a carbon dioxide aerosol propellant for ease of application.

Applications:
WCP-2 is designed for use in applications where the contrast in color between the part being tested and the magnetic particles being used, is insufficient for reliable identification of flaws. WCP-2 can be used with both dry and wet-method magnetic particle.

The Magnaflux 7C Black 8 lb pail has been discontinued. In its place Magnaflux now offers a 25 lb. pail.
