Eddy Current Instruments

Eddy Current Instruments

Eddy current flaw detectors are widely used for aircraft maintenance inspections, detection or surface cracks, bolt hole cracks, second and third layer cracks and corrosion are common applications. The use of “Weld-Scan” probes simplify the inspection of steel structures for fatigue cracks. These probes minimize the effect of coatings, geometry and permeability that complicate the use of convention eddy-current techniques. Eddy-Current techniques can also be used for conductivity measurements, coating thickness gauging and metal alloy and hardness sorting. We cover these techniques in separate product categories, but it should be kept in-mind that a Phase-Plane type Eddy Current Instrument with the proper probe and technique, as well as a trained inspector, can do all or many of these tests with a single instrument. We would be most pleased to guide you through the selection process. ETher NDE, Rohmann, Centurion NDT, Andrew Engineering, Hocking, Techna NDT.
