Medium Damped Transducers with Replaceable Membrane

Overview

The Sonatest SLF and PSLF  Transducers project longitudinal waves for detecting flaws perpendicular to the sound beam. The SLF and PSLF feature a replaceable Membrane. These contact-type transducers are excellent for detecting flaws on rough, round, and irregularly shaped surfaces. A High Temperature Delay Line is available for thickness measurements at elevated temperatures.

  • Max operating temperature 120°F / 50°C
  • High temperature delay line available for SLF Model that can be used on materials up to 750°F / 400°C
  • Medium damped for general use
  • Polymer membrane protected face option for ‘soft nose’ applications
  • Heavy Duty Stainless Steel Case means a higher durability and longer service life than other transducers on the market

Applications

SLF and PSLF Transducers are used for flaw detection. Their 'soft nose' membranes ensure better contact between transducer and curved, rough, or irregular shaped surfaces for better coupling of the sound beam to the material.

The High Temperature Delay Line feature for the SLF Model allows for surface contact of up to 752°F (400°C).
