Overview

Dual Replaceable Delay Line Transducers are suited for larger area scanning areas in high-wear applications where replacement delays extend the life of the transducer. Optional High Temperature Delays allow for intermittent use up to 400°F (204°C).

Applications

Cobra Dual Replaceable Delay Line Transducers provide good near surface resolution and extended life when scanning materials with rough and abrasive surfaces, such as castings and forgings. Available in three versions:

General Purpose Balanced penetration and signal quality

One major application is the scanning of in-service freight car wheels for shelling under the wheel tread.

Delay lines are easily replaced allowing the transducer to be used for years. Other applications include:

  • Near surface detection of casting defects

  • Freight car wheel inspection

  • Corrosion inspection of ship hulls, tanks and pipelines

  • High Temperature Parts (for intermittent use up to 400°F (204°C))
