Low Frequency Dry Contact Transducers

Low Frequency Dry Contact Transducers

Low Frequency Transducers For Direct Dry Contact Inspection Without Liquid Couplants

Overview

Low frequency transducers designed for use in direct dry contact with the test material, without a liquid coupling medium. Ultran's low-frequency UT dry coupling probes are manufactured with Ultran's patented GMP™ piezo-composite and come with side-mount BNC connectors. Originally developed for composite materials, these probes have been successfully applied to plastics, ceramics, woods, rubbers, and metals, and are ideally used when liquid couplants are not allowed or are a nuisance. Additional diameters, connectors, or other features are available upon request.

Features

  • Low-frequency models available from 200 kHz to 500 kHz
  • Active diameters from 13 mm to 100 mm for both spot inspection and broad coverage
  • Manufactured with Ultran's patented gas matrix piezo-composite (GMP™) for high sensitivity and bandwidth
  • Direct dry contact operation eliminates the need for liquid couplants
  • Corrosion-resistant stainless steel housings with side-mount BNC connectors standard
