Low Frequency Direct Contact Transducers

Low Frequency Direct Contact Transducers

Low Frequency Transducers For Direct Contact Inspection With High Endurance Wear Plates

Overview

Low frequency transducers with Ultran's proprietary gas matrix piezo-composite (GMP™) for high sensitivity and bandwidth. Designed for use in direct contact with the material surface, these probes deliver reliable performance in standard contact ultrasonic testing applications. Additional diameters, connectors, or other features are available upon request.

Features

  • Wide range of low-frequency models available from 30 kHz to 500 kHz
  • Active diameters from 13 mm to 100 mm for both spot inspection and broad coverage
  • Manufactured with Ultran's patented gas matrix piezo-composite (GMP™) for high sensitivity and bandwidth
  • High-endurance wear plate protects the active element and extends service life in contact use
  • Corrosion-resistant stainless steel housings with side-mount BNC connectors standard

Direct Contact Transducers

Design: Round, Direct Contact with Wear Plate
Frequency Range: 30 kHz to 500 kHz
Active Surface Area: 0.51 - 3.94"
(13 - 100 mm)

Applications

  • Standard contact ultrasonic testing of solids using conventional liquid couplants
  • Inspection of composites, plastics, ceramics, rubbers, woods, and metals
  • Thickness gauging and flaw detection in production and field environments
  • Durable wear plate makes the probes well-suited to repeated contact use and rough surfaces
  • Capable of defect detection and non-destructive material characterization
