P-E Thickness Probes

P-E Probes measure 0 - 1st echo. This is the best method for measuring on pipe and other materials with internal corrosion and pitting.

Thickness Measurement and Pitting Detection on Pipes and Plates

  • For thickness measurement and pitting detection on pipes and plates, a 5MHZ 1/4" UT-DU-T-002-2000 probe is typically used
  • A 5 MHZ 3/16" UT-DU-T-101-2000 probe should be used on small diameter tubes
  • If high resolution is needed to measure thinner material and to find smaller pits, we suggest using a 7.5 MHz 1/4" Extra Resolution Probe, UT-DU-T-102-3300
