 Durable, Captive Screw Design

Technisonic offers Fingertip Removable Angle Beam Transducers (ABFR) that feature a captive screw design, eliminating the problem of lost screws. They are designed for the inspection of limited access areas, on curved surfaces and for reducing the approach distance to the rest area. Their chief application is for weld inspection or flaw detection of suitably oriented flaws, and are useable on all commercially available flaw detectors. Stainless steel housings provide rugged dependability, and they also feature an acoustically matched epoxy lens to insure optimum performance. A knurled surface provides a very comfortable non-slip grip. 

Available in two series: General Purpose (GP) and Composite (CMP). Supplied with a microdot connector and features color coded labels to easily identify the frequency of the transducer.

Fingertip Removable Angle Beam Transducers have a 1-64 screw size. 

 

General Purpose Series (GP)

Offers the best combination of sensitivity and resolution for the majority of contact flaw detection applications and recommended for the majority of pulse-echo applications. Typically having two to three full ring cycles, these transducers are tuned to provide the best balance between gain and resolution for general purpose testing, with a bandwidth of 30% to 60% at -6 dB.

Composite Series (CMP)

This series features a piezocomposite element which results in transducers with greater sensitivity, increased signal-to-noise ratio, deeper penetration and better resolution, when used with Technisonic Wedges (WFQ), in highly attenuative materials and hard-to-penetrate materials such as austenitics, composites, plastics, etc. Typical bandwidths range from 50% to 100% at -6 dB.
