HIGH Z LV/HV


High Z is a high acoustic impedance couplant which optimizes acoustic transmission and reduces surface noise on curved, rough, pitted or heavily corroded surfaces including concrete. HIGH Z provides the highest acoustic impedance of all Sonotech couplants. High Z's acoustic impedance enables its application in the ultrasonic inspection of cement dams and bridges.

 

HIGH Z Features:

  • Provides the highest acoustic transmission, reducing surface noise and improving coupling performance when thickness gauging or testing rough or curved surfaces.
  • Close acoustic match to Lucite wedges used for angle beam inspection.
  • Available in high or low viscosity, with an operating temperature range of 0 to 200ºF.
  • Maintains a good price to performance ratio
  • Non-flammable and non-irritating - No silicones, surfactants or petroleum distillates.
  • Contains glycerine
  • Water Soluble - easy to remove with water.
  • Environmentally benign formula
  • High Z contains a corrosion inhibitor for ferrous metals with a relative effectiveness rating of 70.
