Overview

The Kowotest SNR Step Wedge meets the requirements of ASTM-E-2446 for Signal-to-Noise Ratio measurement and is used by manufacturers for CR Scanner qualification.

Applications and Qualification

The Signal-to-Noise (SNR) Step Wedge is for use in the Procedure for Quantitative Measurement of Image Quality Parameters. 

Signal-to-Noise (SNR) is defined as by the ASTM as: Quotient of mean value of the linearized signal intensity and standard deviation of the noise (intensity distribution) at this signal intensity. The SNR depends on the radiation dose and the CR system properties.
