Free Standing Dry Developer Stations

Overview

The NDT 3636 standalone dry developer system is available as a Dynamic Cloud or Swirl Cloud system. Optional 4848 system is available (other sizes can be special ordered).

Swirl Cloud Developer Station

A Swirl Cloud developer station has a V-bottom tank. The powder accumulates in the center-bottom of the tank. A foot pedal actuated air manifold is used to blow the powder into the air creating a Swirl Cloud depositing the developer on the parts in the tank. The excess powder falls to the bottom of the tank and is reused. This system is commonly used for less critical parts. The Swirl Cloud system reuses the developer until it is sufficiently contaminated as determined by looking at it with a UV lamp.

Dynamic Cloud Developer Station

The Dynamic Cloud developer station has a square bottom tank and uses nozzles to inject fresh powder from an external tank into the developer chamber. This system uses a measured amount of dry developer that is injected into the chamber by plant air (20psi) by pressing a foot pedal for 5-10 seconds. The developer cloud circulates in the chamber for several minutes assuring parts in the chamber are evenly coated with fresh developer. After the developer is allowed to settle, the operator turns on the vacuum for about 1 minute to exhaust developer from the chamber until the air looks clear, then opens the lid and removes the parts from the chamber. The Dynamic Cloud system is preferred for critical parts testing as it assures that fresh developer is always used.
