Field Magnetic Particle Yoke, Ideal for Seam Welds and Large Surfaces

Overview

Magnetic Particle Inspection (MPI) of seam welds and large surfaces with a hand-held yoke is both labor intensive and time consuming. Since the material needs to be magnetized in two directions with overlapping shots, it is possible for the inspector to miss an area. The MT-360 Rechargeable Rotating Field Magnetic Particle Yoke, however, offers an easier solution. This portable yoke can inspect in both directions at the same time with non-magnetic rollers for non-contact inspection. Features an IP 65 dust tight and water resistant design and can be used with any magnetic particle material. 

Features

Inspect in Both Directions at the Same Time

  • The MT-360 Rotating Field Yoke, magnetizes the material in both directions assuring that longitudinal and transverse flaws are detected. The field direction is alternated at line frequency (50/60 Hz)

Non-Contact Inspection

  • The test is non-contact, non-magnetic rollers create a 0.020” (0.5 mm) gap between the prods and the materials surface, allowing the MT-360 to be rolled across the length of the weld as the inspector applies the magnetic particles.

Use with Any Magnetic Particle Material

  • The MT-360 can be used with wet or dry, visible or fluorescent methods.

Portable

  • The MT-360 is truly portable and easy-to-use. Battery operation permits the use away from AC power supply, so the inspector is not tethered by a power cord
