Scientific Instruments’ QB-3 accurately verifies the duration of mag shots using a non contact method by measuring the duration of the magnetic field in the coil of the mag unit. The QB-3 shot timer can measure all AC, DC, Full Wave, Half Wave, single phase and three phase waveforms. During use, the QB-3 probe is placed inside the coil (or in line with a cable wrap) during a magnetizing shot and the shot time is captured and displayed on the LCD display. You can also use the QB-3 to measure shot time on a power pack by placing the probe across one of the output cables.
A special feature of the QB-3 is that it will trigger on current as low as 50 amps, which is useful when inspecting small parts such as bearings in compliance with ASTM 1444.
