MiniTest 650 Series

MiniTest 650 Series

ElektroPhysik MiniTest 650 Series Coating Thickness Gauges

The MiniTest 650 Series is available in three models:

  • The MiniTest 650 F - is supplied with a Magnetic Induction sensor for measuring non-magnetic coatings over ferrous substrates.
  • The MiniTest 650 N - is supplied with an Eddy Current sensor for non-conductive coatings over non-ferrous substrates.
  • The MiniTest 650 F/N - is a dual sensor for measuring coatings over both ferrous and non-ferrous substrates. This sensor has an auto-recognize feature, whereby it recognizes the substrate and automatically switches to the appropriate measuring principle.

The rugged and easy to handle MiniTest 650 Series combines extended mechanical life on the one hand with high accuracy and precision, designed to work in rough environments as well as on abrasive surfaces, (e.g. shot-blasted steel, plasma spray coated surfaces). The design platform is based off the existing MiniTest 600 Series, with a fixed external probe offering measurement of all non-magnetic coatings on steel and all insulating coatings on non-ferrous metals.

The battery operated MiniTest 650 Series features a backlit display and a one meter sensor cable. The newly developed one pole sensor is made of wear and tear resistant carbide material to ensure a virtually unlimited life cycle under normal conditions. An optimal ram-and-impact-protection is provided through the rubber rimmed casing. Via a USB interface, the MiniTest 650 can be connected to a PC for online measurements or display of statistics.

All models feature statistical output calculated from a maximum of 9,999 readings. The output includes the mean, standard deviation, number of readings and minimum and maximum values in the batch. Calibrations are quick and simple, allowing for standard calibration or 1-point and 2-point. Calibration foils are supplied with the units. ElektroPhysik supplies a Certificate of Performance with each unit. Certification traceable to NIST is available but costs extra (please specify when ordering). Conforms to DIN EN ISO 1461, 2178, 2360, 2808, 3882, ASTM B 244, B 499, D7091 & E 376 standards.
