Dakota Ultrasonics ZX-6 & ZX-6DL

Dakota Ultrasonics ZX-6 & ZX-6DL

Combined Standard Pulse-Echo Flaw Detection Measurement Mode with a multi-echo thru-coating mode for use on materials with epoxy based coatings.

Multi-Echo Thickness Gauges

The ZX-6 series gauges are at the top of the ZX line of basic thickness gauges. They combine a standard pulse-echo flaw detection measurement mode with a multi-echo thru-coating mode for use on materials with epoxy based coatings, and eliminate the error from the coating without having to remove it. They are equipped with adjustable gain, as well as auto Time Dependent Gain in both measurement modes. Our limited 5 year warranty indicates how we feel about the durability and reliability of the ZX-6 Series.

Pulse-Echo Mode (P-E)

Pulse-Echo (P-E) Mode measures from the surface to the back-wall echo. It is used on bare material to determine wall loss on corroded, eroded and pitted materials. When measuring through a coating the measurement will include an error due to the coating thickness x 2-3 because of the difference in sound velocity between the coating and test material.

Echo-Echo (E-E) Mode

Echo-Echo (E-E) Mode measures from the back-wall echo to its multiple-echo and eliminates the error due to the coating. Measurements can only be made on materials that have parallel surfaces as the multiple-echo will disappear if the back-wall is corroded or pitted.
