The A1220 Monolith 3D is a compact handheld ultrasonic pulse velocity and pulse echo tester designed for ultrasonic thickness measurements and flaw detection of concrete and reinforced concrete constructions and rocks. The electronic unit has an impressive throu-transmission range of 4 meters and is equipped with a large high-contrast TFT display and a keyboard. Despite its multifunctionality, the instrument is easy to use due to its intuitive interface and icons menu providing quick access to main settings and functions of the instrument. The ergonomic design and light weight (as little as 800 grams), as well as capability of fastening the electronic unit in the specialized pad, provide convenient operation of the instrument in hard-to-reach areas. All inspection results are recorded into the instrument’s memory and can be transferred via the USB-port to an external PC for further processing, registration and archiving. Introview Concrete software is also included for integral assessment of results using 3D imaging.

Using one low frequency dry point contact antenna array with a shear wave and nominal frequency of 50 kHz allows the A1220 Monolith 3D to carry out thickness measurements of concrete objects up to 4 meters and reinforced concrete objects up to 600 mm. The instrument allows the operator to search for internal foreign inclusions, cavities, voids and cracks of constructions made of reinforced concrete, stone and similar materials, as well as search for embedded flaws in bronze castings. Testing the internal structure of coarse-grained materials is possible. The results of inspection are slice and projection images when using the grid-scan function (B-Scan, C-Scan, D-Scan, thickness-profile), using the visualization software Introview.

Introview Concrete software is a tool for visualization and analysis of two and three-dimensional datasets. Apart from analysis of concrete measurement data the software can be applied in other applications such as non-destructive metal testing, medical imaging, homeland security, seismology and many others.
