The MMS Inspection DFT Coating Thickness Gauge is ideal for all your coating thickness measurement needs. It is rugged, pocket-sized and uses magnetic induction and eddy current principles to measure coating thickness on ferrous and non-ferrous substrates. The MMS Inspection DFT is very efficient and easy to use. The user interface is intuitive so that users without prior training are able to start measuring easily. The 3-point measuring support permits precise measuring in all situations and measurement results are always easily visible on Its high-contrast, rotating display according to the operator's angle. The water jet resistant, dustproof housing (IP65) is ideal for use in demanding conditions. The integrated dual probe promises high reliability when measuring even very thin layers and the wear resistant tip is designed for long term use and reliable results.

Calibration Process

A good gauge only provides meaningful measurement data if it has been properly calibrated in advance. The new graphical user guide shows you which stage of the calibration you are currently at and navigates you through the calibration process.

All MMS Inspection gauges can be optimized to meet your needs. For example, whether the device confirms each measurement visually, acoustically or by vibration. Further preferences can be chosen in the area of statistical analysis.

Purchasing Guide

Step 1: Select Application

  • FE: Measurements on ferrous base material (FE)
  • FE+NF: Measurements on both ferrous (FE) as well as non-ferrous metal base materials (NF)
Step 2: Select Data / Software Capabilities

  • Basic (start): Entry level gauge with small data memory for max. 10,000 measured values in one batch and USB interface for data transfer.
  • Enhanced: Gauge with large data memory for 250,000 measured values in 2500 batches, USB interface for data transfer and 4 batch templates for quick and easy creation of measurement task files (batches). Individual upgrades are possible for this device model, see following section.
  • High: High-end gauge with large data memory for 250,000 measured values in 2500 batches, USB interface, Bluetooth and WiFi for data transfer as well as a total of 9 batch templates for easy and fast creation of measurement task file batches. There are 5 batch templates with pre-configurations especially for coating thickness measurement in the corrosion protection area, e.g. according to measuring regulation SSPC PA2.
