Maurer Magnetic JE Yoke Surface Demagnetizers

Maurer Magnetic JE Yoke Surface Demagnetizers

Table-top demagnetizing with automated die-down function

Easy, Hand-Operated and Enhanced

The Maurer JE 165 / 266 / 300 are table-top Yoke Demagnetizers powered by 115 or 220V AC. The MM JE Demagnetizers produce a stray field over the middle of the top panel. The operating area of the stray field of a yoke demagnetizer is significantly larger than that produced by a plate demagnetizer. They are CE certified and comply with all current common standards.

Features

Magnetic field produced by the JE Yoke Demagnetizers

  • Magnetism of ferromagnetic parts can be removed up to a penetration depth of about 10 mm, making yoke demagnetizers well suited for demagnetizing tools or flat parts.
  • Integrated AFDT* function to prevent unintended re-magnetization caused by early shut off
  • Suitable for flat, easy to demagnetize components
  • Can be used either manually or integrated in automated processes
  • Internal temperature switch, switching contact for overtemperature can be picked up on 4-pin standard M8 sensor socket

AFDT Technology

  1. Demagnetization in continuous process
  2. Automatic Field Decline function after switch off

Automatic Field Decline Technology (AFDT*), innovation for surface type demagnetizers

When the device gets switched off, the magnetic field will not be switched off immediately. AFDT continuously reduces the magnetic field by decreasing amplitudes. This function delivers the following benefits to customers:

  • No re-magnetization of parts when switching off the device
  • Parts can also be demagnetized using the Field Decline function. Simply place the part in the center of the top plate and press the Pulse button. The part will be demagnetized without moving the part.
  • No additional run-out is needed after passing the operating area.
  • Secure process in manual operation. No magnetization of the parts when the demagnetizer is switched off, before the part is removed from the magnetic field.

Operation & Use

In manual operation, slide the part you want to demagnetize directly with a slow and continuous movement over the surface of the demagnetizer. The alternating field reaches its maximum at the center of the plate. Alternatively, the parts can be demagnetized by using the field decline function. Put the part in the middle of the top panel and press the pulse button. The alternating decreasing field will demagnetize the part automatically.

For Best Results:

  • Move the part slowly and continuously from point I to O over the surface.
  • Reverse the part and demagnetize it a second time by sliding the other side over the surface of the demagnetizer.
  • If the part has hard magnetic spots on the surface, turn the parts' surface towards the demagnetizers surface while demagnetizing.
  • Parts with a thickness of more than 0.4" (10mm) need to be demagnetized from both sides or from all sides.
  • It's possible to use two yoke demagnetizers, either one after the other or as a double yoke.
  • The demagnetizing field decreases with increased gap between the part and the surface of the magnetizer. This needs to be considered if the yoke demagnetizer is being used to demagnetize parts on a conveyor belt.

Example of pulse demagnetization by using the AFDT function

  1. Place the part in the middle of the top surface
  2. Press the Pulse button

Bigger parts need to be turned - the opposite side must be demagnetized as well

  • Switch on the demagnetizer
  • Slide the part slowly and continuously across the surface as indicated on device
  • Turn the part and slide it across the surface in the opposite direction

All JE demagnetizers have an interface and can be integrated in automated processes
